SSIS Adult Protection Worker Training

The SSIS Adult Protection Worker course follows the life of a vulnerable adult maltreatment case starting with the intake received from MAARC through the investigation and closing of a case. This training is a half-day course, replacing the previous VA-CEP course. It is designed for new adult protection workers who are directly responsible for completing Adult Maltreatment Reports as well as experienced workers seeking a refresher. While other types of workers can benefit from this training, it may be necessary to limit registration to adult services social workers and supporting staff when space is limited.

Prerequisites

The SSIS Essentials eLearning courses must be completed prior to registering for SSIS Adult Protection Worker Training. Workers who completed the SSIS Basics two-day course in the 12 months preceding the class start date will not be required to complete SSIS Essentials prior to registration.

Registration

Registration is through TrainLink and closes two days before the class start date. Trainees who have not registered for or taken a course on TrainLink must register for a unique key.

To find the SSIS Adult Protection Worker course from TrainLink, select Children’s Services from the list of Leaning Centers, click the Course Catalog, and search under the category SSIS Learning Activities. When you find the class date you wish to register for, click Enroll in this class or Join the Waitlist.

If a class is full, participants should sign up for the waitlist. Walk-ins cannot sign up on site and may not be allowed to participate in the training. Classes may be cancelled if fewer than five registrants enroll. Trainees will receive additional information one week prior to training, including handouts and parking instructions.
